Gordon College Baseball traveled to Franklin, Massachusetts to take on the Bulldogs of Dean College in a non-conference matchup. The Bulldogs took the 11-10 win after trailing for the first five innings.
Gordon continues non-conference play as the Fighting Scots host their home opener on Friday, March 29 versus Colby-Sawyer for a first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots got on the board in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead. The Scots tacked on another in the third when Patrick Tevenan crossed the plate after a passed ball. Joseph Mack and Daniel Quint touched the plate in the top of the fourth to take lead 5-0. The score increased to 8-0 after five and remained that way until the bottom of the sixth.
- Dean put up seven runs in the home half of the sixth to cut the lead to one. In the bottom of the seventh, the Bulldogs ripped a pair of doubles which brought in two runs to take a 9-8 advantage. Dean added another in the bottom of the eight to take the two-run lead.
- Gordon made some noise in the top of the ninth to plate a pair of runs to tie it back up at 10-all. However, Dean put a run across to take the 11-10 victory.
