Gordon College Men's Lacrosse traveled to Dudley, Massachusetts to take on the Bison of Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. The Bison's offense proved to be too much as they defeated the Scots by a score of 13-2. Gordon falls to 3-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play.
Nick Tozier and
Jacob Hryzan each found the back of the net off assists from
Tytus Moen and
Austin Early, respectively. Keeper,
Jay Gallipo made 12 saves in the loss.
Leading the way on offense for the Bison were Hunter Ferreira (Fr./Mansfield, Mass.) and Cole Fontana (Jr./Grafton, Mass.) who had four goals apeice, with Ferreira also dishing out three assists. Defensively, Pat Nally (Jr./North Attleboro, Mass.) picked up six ground balls and Hugh O'Donnell (Jr./Charlestown, Mass.) caused five turnovers in the win.
The Scots are back in action this Saturday, March 30, as they host cross-town rival Endicott with a 3 p.m. start.
How It Happened
- The Bison scored seven unanswered goals before Moen found Tozier for the Scots' first goal of the game early in the second quarter.
- Ferreira finished off the second quarter with a goal in the final second to give the Bison an 8-1 lead going into halftime.
- Nichols scored five more unaswered goals before the Scots netted the last goal of the game when Hrzyan converted an Early pass for the Scots' second tally, finalizing the score at 13-2 in the Bison's favor.
