Gordon College Women's Lacrosse picked up a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) road victory against Nichols College this afternoon, defeating the Bison by a score of 18-6 to even out at 1-1 in conference action.
Greta Moore spearheaded the victory for the blue and white with a seven-goal performance,
Lena Larson added a hat trick, while
Olivia McCarrick had her stick involved in all facets of the game, grabbing eight ground balls, causing five turnovers, and scoring a trio of goals.
For Nichols, Kirsten Sullivan (Sr./Arlington, Mass.) notched a team-high three goals, while McKayla Pratte (Sr./Newington, Conn.) and Danielle Kozloski (Jr./Pepperell, Mass.) each had a goal and an assist each. Keeper, Emily Eagan (Jr./Hingham, Mass.) made 17 saves in the loss.
How It Happened
- Forty two ticks into the game, Nichols' Sullivan got her squad on the scoreboard first to take a 1-0 lead. However, McCarrick tied it up a minute later to start off a 6-0 scoring spree. Midway through the first, Nichols added another but the Scots were still in control leading by a tally of 6-2. Gordon closed out the first with four unanswered goals to lead by eight going into the half.
- Gordon continued firing away in the second as the Scots netted four goals in as many minutes to break it open to lead 14-2 with just over 24 minutes remaining in regulation.
- Both teams scored four more times with the Scots taking the eventual 18-6 victory.
