Gordon College Women's Lacrosse welcomed Endicott College for the Fighting Scots' third Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup of the season. The Gulls took a 14-1 lead at the half, but the Scots picked up and finagled four more goals in the second half, limiting Endicott to five tallies, but falling 19-5.
For the Scots, Olivia McCarrick and Katelyn Dyer led their team with two goals each, while Greta Moore netted one goal. Brenna Peterson led the team in ground balls, picking up six.
Endicott's Meghan Dutchyshyn (Jr./Cheshire, Conn.) had a hat trick. Meanwhile, Jenifer Lacroix (Jr./Wrentham, Mass.) had four assists and two goals for a total of six points contributed to Gull's victory.
How It Happened
- Endicott quickly asserted themselves as a powerhouse in the game by going on a 13-goal streak for the first 27 minutes of the game. With just over two minutes remaining in the first, Dyer scored the first Gordon goal of the game off of a McCarrick helper.
- The Gulls quickly came back after the Scots goal, with Abigail Berger (So./Old Lyme, Conn.) winning the draw control and Maggie Berger (So./Old Lyme, Conn.) scoring Endicott's 14th goal to close out the first half.
- In the first 15 minutes of the second half the Scots went on a three-goal run, with goals from Dyer, McCarrick, and Moore.
- However, the Gulls came back scoring four consecutive goals before McCarrick answered back to score the Scots fifth and final goal, followed by the Gull's last goal just over a minute later to secure the 19-5 Endicott victory.
