Gordon College Women's Lacrosse traveled to Bristol, Rhode Island this afternoon to face another Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) top-ranked opponent in Roger Williams University, falling to the host Hawks by a score of 20-3.
The Fighting Scots continue their week of away contests as they travel to Curry College on Saturday, April 6, to face the Colonels for a 12:30 p.m. opening draw.
How It Happened
- The Hawks were firing away early, netting three goals within a two minute span to jump out to a quick 3-0 lead. Roger Williams eventually led by as many as nine before the Scots' Oliva McCarrick converted a Emma Hryzan feed to put Gordon on the board 14 minutes into the game. The home team added five more to hold a commanding 14-1 lead at the half.
- RWU's, Emily Stoeppel (Sr./Brookfield, Conn.) rattled in her fourth of the day to open up the second making it 15-1 before McCarrick found Katelyn Dyer to give the Scots their second tally of the day.
- Not letting up, the Hawks added another five goals to widen the gap to 18 until McCarrick got the last goal of the day for either side, scoring her second of the day to close out the game, 20-3 in favor of Roger Williams.
Beyond The Box Score
