Scots Make It Three Straight With 23-1 Win Over Becker

Gordon College Men's Lacrosse withstood freezing temperatures as they cruised to a 23-1 victory over Becker College at Alumni Field this afternoon. With the win the Fighting Scots improve to 3-0 in non-league action while the Hawks drop to 0-2 on the year. 

For the Scots, Dan Arthur had a game-high six goals, Tytus Moen led his team with six assists as well as three goals, Nick Tozier added four goals, and Austin Early had three goals. Billy Biegun had a team-high nine ground balls and Jay Gallipo earned the win for the Scots.

Becker's lone goal was netted by Mitchell Eldrige (So./Bourne, Mass.) and assisted by Tyler Forest (Fr./Simi Valley, Calif.). 

The Scots look to keep the momentum going as they travel to Baltimore, Maryland to face Goucher on Monday, March 11 at 4 p.m. while Becker hosts Nichols on Thursday, March 7 for a 4 p.m. start time.

How It Happened
  • The Scots scored early and often, bolting out to a 12-0 lead until Becker's Eldrige knocked in the Hawk's only goal with five minutes remaining in the second. Arthur and Moen orchestrated the next three goals for the Scots, taking a 15-1 lead going into the half. 
  • Gordon scored six straight goals in the third with Moen netting two goals and dishing out two assists.
  • In the final frame, Mike Dubien and Matt Laurence scored unassisted goals to bring it to a final score of 23-1.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Tytus Moen had a career-high six assists in the win.
  • The Scots saw a lot of players involved on the offensive end with 10 different players finding the back of the net.
  • Said Head Coach Brian Lane: "It was a good team win. Both our offense and defense were firing on all cylinders. It was great to see a lot of young guys out there contributing as well."
