Box Score Gordon College Men's Tennis traveled to LaGrange, Georgia today to face off against LaGrange College and were handed a 7-2 loss by the host Panthers before rerouting to Hilton Head for the remainder of spring break.
Assuming their roles in the No. 1 doubles spot,
Nathan Lookwhy and
Jonathan Frink tallied the only win for the Fighting Scots in doubles with an exciting 8-6 victory over the Panthers' top duo of John Benton (Sr./Cornelia, Ga.) and Kyle Kelly (So./Dallas, Ga.).Â
The Panthers kept rolling as Benton topped Frink, 6-2, 6-3, to clinch the win for the home team. Despite LaGrange securing the win, No. 5 singles continued as the Scots' Patrick Monahan edged Caleb Tyler (So./Hoschton, Ga.) in a 6-3, 3-6 (10-1) tiebreaker.
The Scots return to the courts on Sunday, March 10 as they face Lynchburg at 9 a.m. in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
