Taking on the Lasell College Lasers at Stein Diamond in Waltham, Massachusetts this evening, Gordon College Baseball used a five-run sixth inning to propel them to a 9-4 victory over the Lasers in a non-conference tilt.
The Fighting Scots are back in action tomorrow, April 3 as they take on Anna Maria in a non-conference contest at the New England Baseball Complex (Northborough, Mass.) for a 3 p.m. first pitch.
How It Happened
- After a scoreless first, Gordon put up a three-spot on the board thanks to three hits to grab an early lead on the road. A lead-off Chris Leavitt walk in the third came back to hurt the Lasers as the senior scored the fourth run of the game for the Scots thanks to a sacrifice fly from Alec Willey.
- Lasell used a two out rally in the bottom half of the inning to cut the lead to one. The score would remain 4-3 until the top of the sixth when Gordon used four hits to score four runs to hold a comfortable 8-3 lead. The five-run inning was capped out by a two RBI triple from John Lagerfeldt.
- The Lasers tacked on one more run in the seventh but that was the closest they could get as the Scots took the 8-4 win.
- Gordon right-hander, Joe Pedulla went seven innings giving up one earned run and striking out eight.
