Hosting the Curry College Colonels for the 2019 regular-season finale, Gordon College Men's Tennis picked up a 8-1 victory over the Colonels to improve to 4-3 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
The doubles duo of
Will Jeffreys and
Richard Ryzi made quick work of their counterparts in the No. 3 spot, winning 8-1 for the Fighting Scots' first points of the afternoon.
Kristopher Marineau and
Patrick Monahan secured Gordon's second tally of the day with a 8-3 victory in No. 2 doubles. It was a marathon match in the top spot as
Nathan Lookwhy and
Jonathan Frink battled to a tiebreaker but fell to Curry's No. 1's, 7-8 (4-7).Â
Gordon rolled into singles with the 2-1 advantage and sailed to a 8-1 victory over the visitors after taking the 6-0 sweep in singles. Ryzi sealed the deal for the Fighting Scots as the sophomore won 6-3, 6-1 in No. 6 singles.Â
The Fighting Scots will sit back and await the seeding for postseason play which begins on Saturday, April 27.Â
