Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Scots Grab The 2-0 Win Over Thomas In Season Opener

Gordon College Men's Soccer hosted Thomas College in its season opener and first game of the North Shore Invitational tonight at the Brigham Athletic Complex and took home a 2-0 victory over the guest Terriers.

The Fighting Scots have a quick turn around as they welcome the Monks of Saint Joseph's College for their second game of the tournament tomorrow at 7 p.m.

How It Happened
  • After a quiet first half, the Scots started the second half hot as freshman Julius Swaim sent a pass through the defense to Jarvin Ramirez, who dribbled his way around the Terriers' keeper John Villanueva (Junior/Gray, Maine) and sent a sliding shot dinging off the post before freshman Ben Mollenhauer fired the rebound into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute.
  • The Scots maintained the 1-0 lead until Luckson Dambo found Swaim in the 85th minute, who drilled the ball to the lower corner to give the Scots a two-goal lead and eventual win.
  • Freshmen Mollenhauer and Swaim– who also happen to be high school teammates from nearby Lexington Christian Academy– each notched their first career goals as Fighting Scots in the W.
