Gordon College Men's Soccer hosted Thomas College in its season opener and first game of the North Shore Invitational tonight at the Brigham Athletic Complex and took home a 2-0 victory over the guest Terriers.

The Fighting Scots have a quick turn around as they welcome the Monks of Saint Joseph's College for their second game of the tournament tomorrow at 7 p.m.

How It Happened

• After a quiet first half, the Scots started the second half hot as freshman Julius Swaim sent a pass through the defense to Jarvin Ramirez, who dribbled his way around the Terriers' keeper John Villanueva (Junior/Gray, Maine) and sent a sliding shot dinging off the post before freshman Ben Mollenhauer fired the rebound into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead in the 53^rd minute.
• The Scots maintained the 1-0 lead until Luckson Dambo found Swaim in the 85th minute, who drilled the ball to the lower corner to give the Scots a two-goal lead and eventual win.
• Freshmen Mollenhauer and Swaim– who also happen to be high school teammates from nearby Lexington Christian Academy– each notched their first career goals as Fighting Scots in the W.
