Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Scots Stall Chargers In 2-1 Road Win

For their third straight road game, Gordon College Field Hockey ventured up to New London, New Hampshire to face the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer where the Fighting Scots bested the home team by a score of 2-1, grabbing their second victory of the season.

How It Happened
  • After a quiet first quarter offensively for both sides, Gordon's Natalie Adamez snuck one past CSC's keeper Abby Ladd (Jr./Colchester, Vt.) just 19 ticks into the second quarter giving the Scots an early lead. Gordon kept Ladd busy as the Scots fired off seven shots controlling the game going into the half with the 1-0 lead.
  • The Scots capitalized on their second penalty corner of third when Sabrina Jandreau found Cara Goudie in the 32nd minute to stretch the lead to two.
  • Just under two minutes to go in regulation, the Charger's Julia Lanctot (Jr./Sandown, N.H.) spoiled the Scots' shutout as the junior knocked in a pass from teammate Aoife Daly (Fr./Harwich, Mass.) to cut the lead to one, but that was as close as the Chargers could get as Gordon held on for the 2-1 victory.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Cara Goudie has tallied a goal in four of the Scots' five games this season.
  • The Scots have a long lay off before they open up Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday, September 21 as they travel to Roger Williams for a 12 p.m. start.
