Hosting the Fitchburg State Falcons this evening at the Brigham Athletic Complex, Gordon College Men's Soccer netted the first goal of the game before the visiting Falcons scored twice in the second to secure the 2-1 victory.

How It Happened

• In the 29th minute, Ryan Modzeleski nearly put the Scots on the board after striking a shot to the lower corner, but Fitchburg's keeper, Branton Abbett (Jr./Jasper, Ind.) made a diving stop to keep the game scoreless. 
• The 0-0 tally didn't last long as sophomore Luckson Dambo ripped a ball past Abbett, giving the Scots the 1-0 edge going into the half.
• Fitchburg came out of the break with laser-focus as Alexander Loyd (Fr./Kingston, Mass.) tied it up not even five minutes into the second frame for his third tally of the season. 
• Not satisfied with one goal, Loyd struck again just a minute later to put his Falcons on top 2-1. 
• With just under 10 seconds remaining it looked as though the Scots were going to tie it up, but the Fitchburg defense held firm to secure the narrow 2-1 victory.

• Luckson Dambo notched his first goal of the season.
• The Fighting Scots hit the road on Tuesday, September 17 as they travel to Colby College for a 4 p.m. matchup.
