Opening Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on the road this afternoon at Wentworth's Sweeney Field, Gordon College Men's Soccer found the back of the net twice but it wasn't enough as the Wentworth Leopards bested the Fighting Scots, 3-2. 

How It Happened

• In the fifth minute of the game, Max Farner found teammate Luckson Dambo who ripped the ball past Wentworth keeper Robbie West (So./Weymouth, Mass.) to put the Scots up, 1-0.
• Then, with under 10 minutes left in the first half, WIT's Eddie Smith (So./San Luis Obispo, Calif.) headed a well-placed John Dauphin (Jr./Yorba Linda, Calif.) corner kick into the back of the net to knot it up at 1-1 going into the break.
• Determined to defend their home turf, WIT's Griffin Price (Sr./Allendale, N.J.) and Dauphin tallied the Leopards' second and third goals, respectively, to take a solid 3-1 lead midway through the second.
• Despite the deficit, the Scots continued to battle as the Craig brothers teamed up to close the gap when Noah blasted a goal from 20 yards out off a Micah feed in the 67th minute.
• Gordon nearly forced extra time when Dambo hit a hopeful shot on frame in the 89th minute, but the Leopards' West made his final save of the afternoon to preserve the one-goal win.
