Gordon College Field Hockey hosted the Golden Bears of Western New England University (WNE) this afternoon. The Golden Bears took the 4-0 victory over the Fighting Scots in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.
The Fighting Scots continue CCC play this Friday, September 27 with a 4 p.m. start as they travel to Dudley, Mass. to take on the Bison of Nichols College.
How It Happened:
- The Scots had two attacking opportunities in the first quarter off a shot from Natalie Adamez and a penalty corner taken by Kalyn Oliveira but they were not able to convert. On the other end Gordon goalie, Katelyn Pelletier, made a save in the final fifteen seconds of the quarter to keep the game at a 0-0 standstill.
- The Golden Bears drew first blood in 21st minute of the game when Jacqueline Clark (Sr./Auburn, Mass.) found the back of the net to give her team the 1-0 lead. Abigail Seay made a defensive save and Pelletier made another save to close out the quarter and keep the Golden Bears at bay.
- In the first six minutes of the third quarter, the Golden Bears tacked on two more goals less than three minutes apart to give them the 3-0 advantage.
- WNE's Clark scored her second goal of the game to give WNE the four-goal lead which would lead to the eventual 4-0 win over the Scots.
