Scots Soar Past Gulls On Senior Day, 83-77

Gordon College Men's Basketball welcomed crosstown rival and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foe Endicott College today as the Fighting Scots celebrated Senior Day at the Bennett Center. The Scots defeated the Gulls by a score of 83-77.

Eric Demers netted a game-high 35 points, Garrett Sattazahn added 14 points, Parker Omslaer had 13 points and as many rebounds, while Aljernod Terry had seven points and seven rebounds.

Keith Brown (Sr./Pelham, N.H.) had 26 points, while Jalen Echevarria (Fr./Lynn, Mass.)and Matt McDevitt (Jr./Cumberland, Maine) each scored 18 points in the win. 

How It Happened
  • The Gulls trimmed their deficit to three before the Scots went on an 8-0 run to go on top 23-11 with 11:14 to go in the first half.
  • Endicott quickly answered back by scoring 10-straight points to make it a one-point game at the 8:42 mark. 
  • Four ties and five lead changes in the final eight minutes of the half resulted in a 43-all ball game at the break.
  • The Scots trailed by as many as eight in the opening minutes of the second before Demers hit a three to knot it up at 53-all with 16:17 to go in regulation.
  • The lead flipped back and forth five times within the next four minutes before the Scots took an eight-point lead with 9:20 left in the half. The Gulls continued to chip away and tied up at yet again at 73-all with 3:05 on the clock.
  • Gordon hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the six-point win.

  • Eric Demers continues to hold the top spot in the nation with his  34.0 ppg.
  • Before tip-off the Scots honored seniors Aljernod Terry and Eric Demers. 
  • Said Head Coach Tod Murphy: "Anytime you beat Endicott it's a good thing, but to be able to beat them on Senior Night when they are in first place is a great feeling. Our team really played well at both ends of the floor. In particular, our defense the second half of the game was the difference. This is a great way to be able to celebrate two wonderful seniors, Eric Demers and AJ Terry. Our guys really wanted this one."
