How It Happened
- In the opening four minutes of the game the Scots got off to a 10-0 lead after back-to-back three-pointers from Sattazahn and Josh Crutchfield. The Hawks stopped the bleeding after back-to-back three's of their own from Ej Nelson (Sr./Gainesville, Fla.) and Harris, to bring the score to 10-6. The Scots regained their 10-point lead after Demers hit a three-pointer to make it a 17-7 game with 13 minutes to play.
- The Scots held onto the lead the whole half with the Hawks getting as close as one point when Harris hit a three pointer with just under two minutes to play in the half. But Omslaer and Demers would combine for 4-4 from the charity stripe to close out the half with the 43-36 edge.
- In the opening two minutes of the half Harris brought his squad within two after a good three-pointer and a layup, but three minutes later the Scots quickly found a double-digit lead yet again after another Sattazahn three. The Scots kept their foot on the gas pedal and grabbed their biggest lead of the night at 61-45 with 13 minutes to go in the game.
- The Hawks continued to chip away but the closest they were able to get within the Scots was nine points with just under ten minutes to go with a Pugilese three. In the closing two minutes of the game the Scots went a perfect 6-6 from the free line to ice out the game and take the 83-74 win.
Beyond the Box
- Parker Omslaer's 23 point performance tonight solidified his first back-to-back 20-point games in his Fighting Scot career.
- Tonight, Eric Demers has now scored 30+ points in 14 straight games.
- This is the first time that the men's and women's team swept the Hawks since 2012.
- Said Head Tod Murphy: "Beating Roger Williams is always a good thing. They are very well coached, and a very good offense of team. To hold them to 74 points is a good thing for our team moving forward. Our defense will dictate the success of our team moving forward. When we hold teams below 80 points, we can beat anybody in the conference, but when we don't, we can lose to anybody in the conference. I was very pleased with our defense tonight."
- The Scots are back in CCC action this Saturday as they travel to Newport, R.I. to take on Salve Regina University for a 3 p.m. start.
