Welcoming the Hawks of Roger Williams University (RWU) to the Brigham Athletic Complex for tonight's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) clash, Gordon College Men's Soccer was narrowly bested by their guests in a nail-biting 1-0 defeat. With the loss, the Fighting Scots' overall record falls to 7-5-2 (3-3-1 CCC) while the Hawks upgrade to 9-6-2 (6-1-0 CCC). 

How It Happened

• After ten minutes of back and forth control on the field, the Hawks finally made their first attempt to get on the board with an overshot header by RWU's Justin Horvath, missing high. When the clock struck 16:39 the Hawks' Jack Wetzel found the back of the net after being fed by teammate Javi Beltran to give RWU an early 1-0 lead. 
• Afterwards, both teams continued to challenge each other as Gordon was able to get two shots in before the end of the half while extinguishing any attempts from the Hawks.
• After the break, the Fighting Scots came back determined to close the gap, firing off two shots before the Hawks eventual one and only shot of the half, however neither squad was able to break through. With less than ten minutes left to score, Gordon amped-up their shots with three attempts, however it was not enough to penetrate the Hawks' brick wall defense leading to an eventual 0-1 defeat.

• The Scots continue CCC action on Saturday, October 23 when they host the Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology while celebrating the senior Scots with the first whistle to be blown at 4 p.m.
