Gordon College Women's Volleyball hosted Springfield College Pride at Kanas Court tonight for a mid-season, out of conference contest. The Fighting Scots battled through four sets but eventually fell to the Pride 3-1. 

How it Happened

• In the first set, Gordon and Springfield fought back and forth, with Valerie Nilan posing an attacking threat to bring the score to 10 all. However, the Pride started to breakaway, going on short incremental runs with only slight breaks from the Scots to bring the final to 25-18.
• In the second set, Springfield took the court with a commanding lead, quickly making the score 22-10. Yet Gordon broke through going on an eight-point run despite two timeouts from Springfield. It was not enough, as Springfield ended the run and put the set away with three straight points ending the set the same as the first, 25-18. 
• Gordon came out firing, grabbing an early 7-2 lead in the third set. The Scots continued to lead the remainder of the set with some crucial digs from Hayley Robinson followed up with forceful kills from Macie Carroll and Joey Keltner. The Scots pulled out a team win of 25-20, taking the match to a fourth set. 
• In the fourth set, Springfield found themselves two points ahead of Gordon for the majority of the match. Gordon, however, still continued to fight bringing the score to 16-18 until Springfield hit a stride and finished the match 25-20. 

Beyond the Box 

• The Fighting Scots are back in action when they travel to Westfield State on October 9th to take on the Owls.
