How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots jumped out to an early lead 4-0, however the Lions fought back, tying it up before going up 6-4 for their first and only lead of the contest. Shortly after, Gordon's Smith sunk a three to give Gordon the 7-6 edge. Once the Lions hit double digits, Gordon went on a nine point run highlighted by a deep three-pointer from Zach Quanico and a classic David Massillon dunk (22-10). The Scots continued to hit their shots leading by as many as 18 with 6:10 remaining in the first before the Lions trimmed their deficit to eight with just under four minutes remaining. Caleb Scott hit a layup with three seconds left to give Gordon a comfortable 45-33 lead at the break.
- After both sides knock in early buckets in the second, the Lions went on an 8-0 run to cut Gordon's advantage to seven points. However, the Scots quickly built their lead back up to double digits after scoring the next six points. With 10:11 left in regulation, ENC came within four after Deonta Pearson saw nothing but net, scoring seven points within a minute and a half span. However, Gordon once again continued to add to their lead, going up by as many as 18 thanks to a three from Drew Thibeault with 51 ticks on the board. ENC collected the final six points, but Gordon earned the 97-85 win.Â
