Gordon College Women's Lacrosse hosted Saint Joseph's Monks at the Brigham Athletic Complex in their 2021 season opener. The Monks extended their halftime lead to 10 in the second to eventual take the 17-6 win over the Fighting Scots.
 
On the Monks end, Megan Mourmouras led her team in goals, with a total of four. Lydia Dexter found the back of the net three times while also collecting six ground balls.

For the Scots, Lena Larson, Abigail Mansfield, and Katelyn Dyer each tallied two goals with Dyer added two assists in the effort. On the defensive end, Cara Goudie scooped up three ground balls. 
 
How it Happened

• Saint Joseph's and Gordon went back and forth, with each team scoring two goals before Dexter starts a scoring streak for the Monks in the 20th minute. 
• With nine minutes left in the half, Mansfield broke the Monks' streak and scored her first goal for the season, making it 5-3, Monks' leading. St. Joe's then went on to score two more goals making the halftime score 7-3.
• Right out of the gate, Saint Joseph's scored five goals after the half stretching their lead, till Larson booked her second goal of the season to break up the run. Seven minutes later, Mansfield added the next of the game for the Scots making it a 12-4 game. 
• Gordon scores one last time from the hands of Dyer, but the Monk's end the game on a three-goal run making the final 17-6.
