Warriors' Offense Wears On Scots For 20-6 Win

The Gordon College Women's Lacrosse Team hosted the Eastern Connecticut State Warriors in a non-conference matchup at the Brigham Athletic Complex tonight. The Warriors started out strong leading the game 8-0, and despite the Scots' valiant effort, the Warriors came out with the 20-6 victory.

For the Scots, Lena Larson and Katelyn Dyer again led the Fighting Scots with two goals a piece. Abigail Mansfield and Paige Blake each contribute one goal in the effort.

For the Warriors, Jessie Pyrek-Bennett led the Warriors with six goals while Caroline Stent came close behind with five points on the night.

How it Happened

  • After another tally from ECSU, the Scots hit back-to-back with goals from Dyer and Blake to make it an 11-3 game.
  •  Larson scored her first goal of the game with 50 seconds left in the half, leaving the score 12-4 at the break.
  • Coming out of halftime, the Warriors scored four uninterrupted goals until Abigail Mansfield found the back of the net with 17 minutes left.
  • Rounding out the offense for the Scots was Larson who netted her final goal of the day, but was book ended by two goals off the sticks of the Warriors for a final score of 20-6 in favor of the visitors.
