Gordon College Tennis welcomed Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) for their home-opener. The Fighting Scots were able to pull off a close 5-4 win over the Leopards, to improve to 2-1 overall this season. 

Matt McEathron and Alex Ryzi put the Scots on the board first in the No. 3 doubles spot with a commanding 8-2 win. Gordon then secured another win in the No.1 slot powered by Will Jeffreys and John Marineau who fought for the 8-7 victory. 

The Fighting Scots started singles off strong with the help of Jeffreys who quickly shut out his opponent (6-3, 6-0) in the No. 1 slot, while A. Ryzi followed his teammate up with the next singles win (6-3, 6-2, 1-6) in the No. 6 position. Marineau battled for triumph to break the tie and lead the Scots to the 5-4 overall win as he was the last to lock in a win for Gordon, outsmarting his opponent (7-5, 2-6, 6-4). 
 
The Scots are back in conference play (CCC) on Saturday, April 3 when they invite WIT to return to their courts, serving up at 11 a.m.
