Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Gwynn Boosts Scots To 6-0 Victory Over Falcons

Welcoming Fitchburg State University tonight, Gordon College Men's Soccer outplayed their guests, cruising to a 6-0 win. The Falcons were no match for the Scots' unstoppable offense, allowing Gordon to collect their second win of the 2021 season improving their overall record 2-1.

How It Happened
  • The Scots were quick to score first with a cherry-pick tap from Chase Gwynn putting Gordon on the board 1-0. The Falcons attempted to come back but were faced with the Fighting Scots' superior defense.
  • Gwynn continued his hot streak, scoring another effortless goal for the Scots and lengthening their lead 2-0. Still in charge, Gordon continued to overpower their competition with three more shots in the remainder of the half. Minutes later, the Fighting Scots took advantage of a throw in resulting in a pretty cross from senior Luckson Dambo, feeding classmate Roddy Ngolomingi who perfectly tapped the ball past the Falcons' keeper to conclude the first half 3-0.
  • Gordon continued to fight for possession and persistently challenged Fitchburg's goaltender. Gwynn's magic touch struck one more time, as he placed the ball in the bottom left corner of the net to give the Scots a 4-0 lead, marking his fifth goal of the 2021 season.
  • The Scots continued to pressure the Falcons, netting two more on the night. Ryan Modzeleski added to the board with a goal from the help of Julius Swaim. With twenty seconds left, Isaac Bennett capitalized on a corner kick from Ngolomingi, heading the ball past the Falcons to bring the final score to 6-0 in favor of the Scots.

  • Chase Gwynn recorded his first hat-trick as a Scot in tonight's game.
  • The Fighting Scots compete again on Tuesday, September 14 when they take on Colby College on their home turf at 7:30 p.m.
