Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Terriers Surpass Scots 2-0 With Second Half Push

Gordon College Field Hockey traveled to Waterville, Maine tonight where they ultimately fell to the Terriers of Thomas College, 2-0 after a tight clash. A last-minute goal in the third period put the Terriers on the board and paced the home team to the victory.

How It Happened
  • From the beginning, both squads came out firing, striving to hit the back of the net first. Each team was able to get two shots across in the first period but were still held scoreless.
  • Gordon started the second period hungry for more, doubling their shots to four, however Thomas stood their ground keeping the score at 0-0.
  • The Terriers barked back with four straight shots in under ten minutes of the third period, but the Fighting Scots displayed resilient defense, thwarting away all ten shots from their competitors in the first 42 minutes of play. The pounding paid off for the Terriers when Kallee Turner delivered a perfect pass at the post to Lindsey Gregoire who executed a shot in the opposite corner of the net giving the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
  • Thomas continued to strike, getting in three more shots before Turner eventually knocked in a goal of her own with five minutes left on the clock to secure the Terriers victory 2-0 over the Scots.
Beyond The Box Score
  • The Scots return to their home turf where they will challenge Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) rivals Endicott College Gulls Saturday, October 2 at 11 a.m.
