Traveling to Bangor, Maine, Gordon College Men's Soccer flew over the Husson Eagles' nest in tonight's matchup, topping their hosts by a score of 3-2. After battling back and forth, a goal from
Chase Gwynn put the Scots over the top to seal the narrow victory. The Fighting Scots even out their record at 3-3 on the young season.
How It Happened
- Despite Gordon's attempt to strike first, the Eagles' Alejandro Mora Abad gave Husson an early 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the contest.
- The Scots retaliated with five shots before graduate student Michael Hahn tied it up for the blue and white with help from fellow classmate Chase Gwynn.
- In the 52nd minute, Husson's Marcos Chanlatte put a shot in the back netting to put his team back on top, 2-1, but not for long.
- Senior Ryan Modzeleski came up big with a game-tying goal less than ten minutes later. Continuing to supply the offensive pressure, the Scots' Gwynn, pounded the game-winner past Husson's keeper to edge their hosts 3-2.
Beyond The Box Score
- The Fighting Scots return to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday, September 25 when they travel to Biddeford, Maine to compete against the University of New England with a 12 p.m. start.
