How It Happened
- Gordon held the edge in the first set until the Bison strung together three straight points to take the lead (21-19) for the first time since they led 2-1. The Scots locked it up at 22-all but the Bison finished it off to take the 25-23 win.
- Both sides traded points, taking their fair share of leads until it looked like the blue and white were about to pull away after a five-point run (23-20). However, the Bison continued to claw their way back and recorded the Scots' longest set of season as the visitors eventually came away with the 36-34 W to go up 2-0.
- Unphased by the deficit, the Scots stormed out of the gates strong taking a commanding 8-3 edge before widening the gap to 13 (22-9) en route to a 25-11 victory to stay alive. From the service line, Murphy, Macie Carroll, and Kaitlin Mercado combined for seven aces.
- Looking to extend the match, the Fighting Scots did just that, as they withstood the Nichols attack, using runs of 5-0 and 3-0 to catapult them to victory (25-17) and force a winner take all fifth set.
- After jumping out to a narrow 5-4 lead, the Scots kept their foot on the gas, securing 10 of the next 13 points to come away with the thrilling reverse sweep.
