Gordon College Field Hockey traveled to Worcester, Mass. tonight for a non-conference matchup against the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Engineers where the Fighting Scots fell to their hosts after the Engineers slowly chipped away, recording one goal each period to grab the 0-4 win.

How It Happened

• Even though WPI came out of the gates firing from the beginning, the Scots shut them down as goalkeeper Allyson Stauffer denied three shots that were lasered in her direction. It wasn't until 1:06 ticks left on the clock that the Engineers were able to sneak one past to break the scoreless game.
• WPI carried their momentum over into the second as just five minutes and three seconds into the next period, the Engineers lengthened their lead to two after following up on a rebound to find the back of the cage. 
• Unsatisfied with their advantage, the Engineers added one goal to their tally in each of the two remaining quarters to hand their guests the eventual 0-4 loss.

• The Fighting Scots return to their home turf on Saturday, October 22 when they invite Roger Williams to the Brigham Athletic Complex for a 1 p.m. conference game.
