Gordon College Field Hockey returned to Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this afternoon as they hosted the Hawks of Roger Williams University (RWU) where the Fighting Scots were narrowly defeated, 0-2.

How It Happened

• After almost 30 minutes of scoreless play, the Hawks found the back of the cage with 31 ticks left to head into the break with a 1-0 edge. RWU carried that momentum over into the second half as the Hawks doubled their score in the first 50 seconds of the new frame (2-0). However, the Fighting Scots were able to shut down their opponents for the remainder of the third thanks to a stealthy save from Scot keeper, Allyson Stauffer, on a Hawk penalty kick. 
• In the final 15, the Scots held RWU to just two shots, however, they were unable to get on the board, taking the eventual 0-2 loss.

• The Fighting Scots take a break from CCC play next as they travel to Springfield, Mass. on Tuesday, October 25 to battle the Springfield Pride at 4 p.m.
