Taking a break in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this evening, Gordon College Men's Soccer traveled up to Henniker, New Hampshire to square off against the Pilgrims of New England College (NEC) on Don Melander Turf Field. The Fighting Scots drew first blood but NEC later retaliated and at the conclusion of 90 minutes, the game resulted in a 1-1 tie.

How It Happened

• After a scoreless first half, the Fighting Scots came out of the break with a continued offensive focus. In the 54th minute, Adrian Chiang found teammate Benji Wright who ripped a shot into the netting to put the Scots on top, 1-0. 
• The Pilgrims made a flurry of substitutions to try and find some fresh legs and their strategy paid off as the home team knotted it up at 1-1 thanks to a goal from William Scala twelve minutes after the blue and white put one on the board.  

Beyond The Box Score

• With the goal tonight, Benji Wright has now scored in back to back games. 
• Adrian Chiang recorded his first collegiate assist tonight. 
• The Scots return to CCC play as well as the Brigham Athletic Complex on Saturday, October 8 for a 7 p.m. kick-off against the Western New England Golden Bears.
