Gordon College Men's Soccer welcomed the Golden Bears of Western New England to the Brigham Athletic Complex for a Saturday night Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup where the Golden Bears edged the Fighting Scots, 1-0.

How It Happened

• In the first 45 minutes of action, WNE held the shot advantage (9-6) where Gordon keep Gunnar Lucuk shined as the rookie made five saves to keep the score at 0-0 through halftime. 
• Eight minutes into the second half, the Golden Bears' Sean O'Neill ripped in a corner kick, finding the head of teammate Sam Riley who knocked the ball in the upper netting to put the visitors up, 1-0.
• The Scots nearly locked it up with just under three minutes remaining as Gordon's Noah Martin chipped in a shot right in front of the net but the WNE keeper, Roger Leland made the save of the game to keep his squad on top.

• Gunnar Lucuk was just one save shy of his season-high (nine) saves 
• The Fighting Scots return to action on Tuesday, October 11 as they welcome the University of New England Nor'easters for a 7 p.m. contest.
