Gordon College Men's Basketball hosted their first Conference match-up of the season this afternoon as they invited the Nichols College Bison to Kanas Court where the Fighting Scots were ultimately defeated by the bison, 63-103.

Garrett Sattazahn led his team with 16 points including four baskets from downtown, meanwhile,
Michael Makiej was right behind him with 15 points.Â
Jakigh Dottin guided the Bison to victory with 23 points, followed byÂ
Tavon Jones andÂ
Quincy Ferebee who contributed 22 and 21 points, respectively.Â
How It Happened
- Bryce Smith gave the Scots the first edge of the game as the sophomore took advantage of a fast break to go up 2-0, however, the Bison flipped the script to take the three point advantage (9-6) before Sattazahn net his 1,001th point with 16:52 on the clock to come within one. But it wasn't long before the Bison chipped away to grab a double-digit lead (29-19) at the 10:32 mark thanks to a three-pointer before going on a nine-point run to take their biggest lead of the game, 38-20 with 6:45 remaining in the half. The Scots were able to close the gap in the remaining minutes of the first with a basket from downtown from Sattazahn with 30 seconds remaining, however the Bison landed a free throw to keep their 18-point lead heading into the break, 55-37.
- Sattazahn immediately cut the Scots deficit down by two after landing a layup in the paint just 28 seconds into the second half but the the Bison quickly answered back to take a 20-point lead (61-41). The Fighting Scots attempted to battle back but it wasn't enough as they took the eventual 63-103 loss.Â
