How It Happened
- The Golden Bears drew first blood hitting the first two buckets of the contest before the Scots hit their next six layups to go on top, 12-8 at the 15 minute mark. Continuing to build on their lead, Gordon went on a 13-0 run to take a commanding 25-10 edge. With just five minutes left until halftime, David Massillon threw down his second dunk of the frame to double up the Golden Bears (40-20). Sattazahn rattled home a layup before draining a pair from behind the arc in the final two minutes to give his squad a 52-26 advantage at the break.
- Gordon did not cool off after halftime, scoring a quick seven points to widened the gap to 31 a minute and a half into the second. WNE strung a handful of points together to bring the deficit back to 29, but the blue and white couldn't miss leading by as many as 35 or more points throughout much of the second half. In the closing minutes, Xahn Frater, Benjamin North, Zachary Bennett, Drew Thibeault, and Jayson Clayton outscored their opponents 13-5 to bring home the dominant 42-point victory.
