Gordon College Men's Lacrosse returned to their home turf tonight to host the Lions of Emerson College for their final non-conference game of the season where the Fighting Scots fell to the visitors, 19-4.
For the Scots,
Marco Fernandez registered two goals whileÂ
Kobi Bui and
Joel Bean each booked a goal in tonight's effort. Additionally, Bean also scooped up seven ground balls.
Leading the way for the visitors wereÂ
Austin Franklin who had five goals and
Birk Swan who dished out five assists while adding three goals.
How It Happened
- Bean won the first face-off of the day and immediately took it to the house for the first tally of the game eight seconds into the first.
- However, Emerson would go onto score the next 12 to take an 11-point edge at the half.
- The Scots had their best opportunity midway through the third as Gordon's offense rattled off seven shots in a two and a half minute span but were unable to sneak one past Emerson's keeper until Fernandez ripped one into the netting with 2:31 left in the third.Â
- Gordon scored a pair of goals in the fourth, but Emerson was able to come out with the 19-4 victory.
Beyond the Box Score
- The Scots have a 10 day lay-off before they return to action on Saturday, March 26 as they travel to Bristol, R.I. to take on the Roger Williams Hawks at 7:30 p.m.
