Scots Stifled By Bison On The Road

Gordon College Men's Lacrosse continued Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play tonight as they traveled to Dudley, Massachusetts to face the Bison of Nichols College where the Bison defeated the Fighting Scots, 13-7.

Kobi Bui continued to have the hot hand as he led the charge for the Scots finding the back of the net four times while scooping up four ground balls while Marco Fernandez and Wilton Lestage each added two and one goal, respectively. 

For the Bison, Cian Keohane spearheaded the offense with five goals and two assists, meanwhile Connor Santoni and Ryan Warner added three and two goals, respectively, in the win. Additionally, the Bison converted five of their 13 goals off passes from Colby Gillis. 

How It Happened 
  • The Bison drew first blood two minutes into the game, when Keohane converted on a pass from Hunter Ferriera to give his team the early 1-0 lead. The Fighting Scots were able to even the score less than a minute later when Lestage rocketed a shot past the Bison goalie to bring the score to 1-1. Over the next 11 minutes the Bison went on a 5-0 run before Bui found the back of the net for the Scots with the seconds winding down to bring the score to 6-2 in favor of the Bison going into the second quarter.  
  • After the Bison added on to their lead within two minutes of the second quarter the Scots, Bui tacked on two more goals to bring the total to 7-4 and his team within three going into the third quarter.  
  • The Bison wasted no time extending their lead throughout the third quarter adding four goals to their total before Fernandez converted on a pass from Bui to bring the score to 11-5 in favor of the Bison to close out the quarter.  
  • The Bison and Scots each tacked on two goals to their tally before the Bison took the eventual 13-7 win.  
Beyond The Box Score 
  • Rookie Kobi Bui booked a career-high four goals in tonight's contest.
  • The Fighting Scots host their first CCC game next Tuesday, April 5, when they welcome cross-town rival Endicott College for a 7 p.m. start.
