How It Happened
  • The Colonels got on the board quickly after scoring just 1:18 after the first whistle. But the Fighting Scots answered back at the 10:21 mark with a Fernandez goal to knot it up, 1-1 before Curry went on to score two more goals within a 35 second span to end the first up 3-1.
  • In the second quarter, the Colonels immediately tacked onto their lead, taking a 6-1 advantage with 13:22 remaining in the half. However, Gordon's Fernandez stayed hot, shelling out three goals in a row to bring the Fighting Scots within two (4-6). Curry was able to break Fernandez's scoring spree at the 7:04 mark as Bui laced one past the Colonels' keeper to hold onto the two-goal gap. With 50 ticks remaining, Curry's Perfetuo added to his stat sheet to give the Colonels a three-goal edge heading into the third, 8-5.
  • The Colonels were able to lengthen their lead by two early on in the third to bring the score to 10-5 before both squads traded goals to end the quarter, 11-6.
  • Heading into the final frame, the Scots held Curry scoreless until 11:07 when Dalzell found the back of the net less than a minute before the Colonels tacked on another to take a seven-goal lead with 10:35 remaining in regulation. The Fighting Scots attempted retaliate, but it wasn't enough as the Colonels took the eventual 14-6 win.
