Continuing Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action this afternoon, Gordon College Baseball hosted the Suffolk University Rams for a nine-inning matchup where the Fighting Scots were bested by the Rams, 16-2. 

How It Happened 

• After a quick inning in the field, the Scots got the bats going early when Jonathan McIntyre led-off the home half of the first with a single through the left side. Shortly after, McIntyre found himself on third after advancing on a fielders choice followed by a wild pitch. After drawing a walk, senior Patrick Tevenan played with the Rams' defense as he took off for second to draw the throw and successfully send McIntyre home for the Scots' first run. 
• Gordon shut down the Rams in the second before tacking on another run to their narrow edge thanks to the hot bat of McIntyre who doubled to left, scoring Andrew Hartman (2-0). However, Suffolk immediately answered back in their next ups, scoring three runs to take lead, 3-2. From then on, the Rams were able to add to their lead, heading into the sixth, 6-2. The Scots held Suffolk to six runs until the eighth when the Rams strung together seven hits to gain a double-digit lead (12-2). Gordon attempted to close the gap in their remaining at bats, however, the Rams continued to pile on the runs ultimately taking the 16-2 win. 

Beyond The Box Score

• The Fighting Scots hit the field again this Saturday, April 9 when they travel to Springfield, Massachusetts for a doubleheader against CCC competitors, Western New England with the first pitch set for 12 p.m.
