Scots Sting Hornets In 3-0 Sweep

On day two of the Colby Invitational in Waterville, Maine, Gordon College Women's Volleyball made quick work of Northern Vermont-Lyndon with a commanding 3-0 victory.

Maggie Rejmer led the way with six kills, five digs and five aces, Annie Murphy add five kills, while Olivia Fleming had 10 assists and four aces.

How It Happened
  • The Fighting Scots quickly tripled up the Hornets, 9-3 forcing NVU-Lyndon to call a timeout. The Hornets got one back after the timeout but it was all Scots from then on out as blue and white closed out the first frame with seven straight points to take the 25-11 win.
  • Fleming began the second with a pair of aces and an assist to Emily Schneider, setting the tone with a 3-0 edge. Already ahead by 10, Sophia Thagouras recorded two aces to extend her squad's lead to 12 before Aba Asante knocked over another ace making the score 17-4. Mia Serna was the Scot to finish it off from the service highlighted by a pair of aces to give Gordon a 25-5 win to go up, 2-0.
  • It was much of the same in the third, as Fleming gave the Scots their largest lead of the frame with another ace (21-6). After the Hornets got two more points, Wren Worth took control, serving in two aces en route to the 25-8 win.
