Gordon College Field Hockey hit the turf this afternoon as they invited the Lasell University Lasers for a non-conference battle. The Lasers jumped to an early three goal lead, however, the Fighting Scots held Lasell scoreless in the second but were unable to find the back of the net, taking the 0-3 loss. 

How It Happened

• The squads ping-ponged possession for the majority of the first 15 until Lasell's Lily Stark laced one to the far left post where her teammate Kaitlin Bedell cherry picked it to the back of the cage to take the slight 1-0 edge with 4:06 remaining.
• In the second quarter, the Lasers struck right away, adding to their advantage just 1:41 after the whistle (2-0). The Scots attempted to shrink the deficit but it wasn't long before the Lasers made it 3-0 heading into the half. 
• Coming back from the break, the Scots came out hungry for a goal, pounding the net three times in the first 6:33 minutes of action while earning four penalty corners. The Fighting Scots were in control, keeping the ball in the visitors' end for the majority of the half, however, they were unable to penetrate Lasell's wall, entering the final frame down by three. 
• The Scots continued to command the turf, outshooting the Lasers, 2-0 in the last period, however, it wasn't enough as they took the eventual 0-3 loss.

• The Fighting Scots return to conference action on Saturday, October 1 when they travel across town to Beverly to face the Endicott College Gulls at 1 p.m.
