Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Lyons Top Scots In Non-Conference Matchup

The Gordon College Men's Soccer team dropped a non-conference road matchup to the Wheaton College Lyons, 3-0 on Nordin Field this evening.

How It Happened
  • The Lyons came out firing, putting pressure on the Scots' steady defense, taking four shots in the first 18 minutes but were unable to convert. On their fifth shot of the half, Wheaton's Luke Strange sailed in a corner kick finding teammate Robert Lloyd who knocked it in toward the left post to put the home team up, 1-0 in the 19th minute.
  • Gordon nearly tied it up in the 30th minute, as the blue and white earned a pair of corner kicks within a 60 second span, but both header attempts went wide of the net to keep the score 1-0 in favor of the home team through the end of the half.
  • Benji Wright and Noah Martin opened up the second frame for the Scots with a pair of shots on goal, but Wheaton's goalie Cam Millington was able to keep the ball in front of him, keeping the Scots off the board.
  • Wheaton was able to tack on two more goals in the second to take the eventual 3-0 victory.
