How It Happened
- Nichols drew first blood to take a 4-0 lead before the Scots answered back to go on top, 5-4. After eight more lead changes in the next seven minutes, the blue and white began to widen the gap which was spearheaded by back-to-back three's from Gehrig Zimmerman and Yu (29-23)Â with 8:13 to go in the half.
- Gordon continued to shoot from downtown as a pair of Smith three-pointers gave the Scots an eight-point advantage forcing Nichols to call a time out to break up the Scots' hot scoring. The Bison were able to get a few points back but the Fighting Scots remained in control to end the frame as the scoreboard read 48-43 in favor of the Scots.
- Sattazahn opened the second with a shot from three-point land to extend his squad's lead to 51-43. Nichols then began to claw their way back into the race, gaining their first lead since they led, 23-21 in the first. Gordon, however, answered back to score seven straight points (58-52) at the 14:49 mark.Â
- Just about midway through the half (10:32), Nichols went on a  commanding run as they came out with the 89-69 win over the Scots.
Beyond The Box Score
- Gehrig Zimmerman netted a career-high in points in the first half alone as the sophomore scored nine points in just six minutes of action, going 3-4 from behind the arc.
