After an elongated road stint, Gordon College Volleyball returned to Kanas Court this evening to host the U. of New England Nor'easters in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action. The Fighting Scots capitalized on the night taking the first three sets, in their victory over UNE. 

How It Happened

• The first set was evenly matched as both teams would lock up the score until the scoreboard read 12 - 12. From there, the Scots took and maintained the narrow advantage in the 25 - 23 win. 
• Annie Zimmerman and Teagan Brideweser were able to help the blue and white come out with a 5 - 0 start to the second set. However, UNE flipped the script late and found themselves on top, 22 - 19. Not going down without a fight, the Fighting Scots were able to string together a five point run in order to go up, 2 - 0 (25 - 23).
• In the third and final set, the score went back and forth, until 7 - 7 where the Scots widened the gap to 10 - 7 and 14 - 8 before cruising to a 25 - 18 win for the sweep.

Beyond The Box Score

• Freshman, Annie Zimmerman, had a career night with 15 kills. 
• With 11 digs tonight, Nikki Batson, has recorded double digits digs in nine matches on the season. 
• Gordon takes a break from league action this weekend as they travel to Union, New Jersey for a trimatch against their hosts Keane as well as Messiah.
