The Gordon College Fighting Scot's Volleyball team traveled to Nichols in Dudley, Massachusetts for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup this evening. The Scots quickly took the 2 - 0 lead, before securing the overall win with a score of 3 -1 over the Bison. 

How It Happened

• In the first set, it was all the blue and white holding Nichols to only 14 points. Annie Murphy had two aces that helped secure the victory as well as a team effort for capitalizing off of the errors made by the Bison. (1 - 0)
• Nichols came back in the second set, keeping the score close of 9 - 8, before Gordon's Joey Keltner and Murphy strung together a few kills to give the Scots the 25 - 21 win. (2 - 0) 
• Both sides had their fair share of runs in the third, with Nichols being able to pull out a 25 - 21 win to force a fourth frame.
• Gordon raced out to a 14 - 7 advantage in the fourth and never looked back en route to the dominant 25 - 16 dub to secure the overall 3 - 1 win. 

Beyond The Box Score

• Kate Howe recorded her fourth double-double of the season, with this being her first conference double-double of the year. 
• Annie Zimmerman has now reached double-digit kills in nine games in her rookie campaign. 
• Gordon has now won seven straight meetings against Nichols. 
• The Scots head to Springfield, Mass. on Saturday, October 28 to square off against the Western New England Golden Bears at 1 p.m.
