Gordon College Men's Soccer squared off against the Curry College Colonels on the road for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest under the lights this evening where the Fighting Scots secured their second straight CCC victory after defeating the Colonels by a score of 2 - 1. The Scots now improve to 5 - 0 - 4 on the season and 2 - 0 - 1 in league play. 

How It Happened

• After a scoreless first 45 minutes of action, the Fighting Scots came out firing, recording seven shots in the opening nine minutes before Benji Wright found the back of the net in the 55th minute to put the blue and white on top, 1 - 0. 
• Continuing to control the tempo, the Scots got two more shots off on goal shortly after Wright's tally, not allowing the Colonels to even out the score. Then, in the 64th minute, Gordon's leading scorer Wright registered his second goal of the evening and put his squad on top by two goals. 
• Holding the two score advantage, Gordon keeper Hudson Bennett made a trio of saves to keep the Colonels at bay throughout much of the remainder of regulation en route to the 2 - 1 conference win. 

Beyond The Box Score

• With two goals tonight, Benji Wright has now recorded a pair of two-goal games this the season. 
• Rookie keeper Hudson Bennett registered his second CCC win and has only allowed three goals on the season. 
• The Scots continue CCC play on Tuesday, October 10 as they host the Endicott College Gulls at the Brigham Athletic Complex at 7 p.m.
