Gordon College Men's Basketball traveled up to Waterville, Maine today to face-off against the Colby-Sawyer College (CSC) Chargers at the Colby College Tournament. After the 40 minute fight the Scots came up short, 68-79.Â
For the Scots,
Bryce Smith lead the way with 21 points and 4 steals, while
Alex Daniel contributed 12 points in his collegiate debut.Â
The Chargers were paced by
Jaquan Mosley who dropped 24 points, and
Sean Peterson added 14 points.Â
How It Happened
- The Fighting Scots raced out to a 13-2 lead in large part due to the solid play of Isaac Jarvis and Treyton Tebbs. CSC closed the gap multiple times before tying it up at 22-all with 8:31 to go in the half. Gordon however, continued to hold the upper hand before the Chargers grabbed their first lead of the evening (30-29) with just over four minutes on the clock and took the 40-32 edge at the half.
- In the second half, the blue and white trimmed the deficit to five after the rookie, Alex Daniel drained one form behind the arc (12:27). The Chargers were able to orchestrate an 8-0 run as they came away with the 68-79 victory.Â

- For the second time in his career Bryce Smith hit the 20 point threshold in the season opener.Â
- The Fighting Scots return to Waterville, Maine and will play against either Emerson College or Colby College to finish out their tournament at Colby on Saturday, November 11. Â
