The Gordon College Men's Basketball team had home court advantage as they hosted the Elms College Blazers this evening at Kanas Court. The battle was tight going into to halftime, where the Fighting Scots came out in the second looking to take a lead and they were able to do just that taking the victory 83-72. 

For the Fighting Scots, Isaac Jarvis led the way with 19 points, while Micah Steely, Bryce Smith, Justin Yu contributed double digits of 13, 12, and 10 points respectively. 

Elms College was paced by Tahquell Cadle with 16 points and teammate RJ Mayfield who netted 14 points. 

How It Happened

• In the first half both teams traded buckets allowing each team to only have a four point advantage. Rookie, Lucas Mouthaan was able to close the gap after an offensive rebound and put back to have the blue and white down by one (33-32). 
• Jarvis came out of the half, leading the Scots with its first seven points. The Blazers fought back to take a slight advantage, before Yu knocked down a three and converted on the +1, giving the Scots back the lead and momentum at the 14:07 mark. Down the stretch Steeley continued to work his way to the free throw line to keep the Blazers at bay, as the Scots propelled themselves with a 51 point second half, leading the way to their second straight victory (83-72).

Beyond The Box Score

• Rookie, Micah Steely had a career-night with 13 points, going a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. 
• Before break, the Fighting Scots will travel up to Brunswick, Maine for a non-conference match-up against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears on Saturday, December 9 at 5 p.m.
