After two straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victories, Gordon College Men's Basketball traveled to Bristol, Rhode Island to square off against the Roger Williams (RWU) Hawks on their home court where the Hawks defeated the Fighting Scots, 84-63.
For the Scots,
Zachary Bennett had 11 points and five assists,
Ryan Tertel netted 12 points, and
Tyler Long booked 11 rebounds.
RWU's
John Ah Kao had 16 points and five assists,
Nate Lopes booked 14 points and 10 rebounds, while
Ty Higgins added 11 in the win.
How It Happened
- After battling for the offensive rebound, Zach Quanico drained one from behind the arc, which was then followed by teammate Bennett who knocked in a layup to put the Scots on top, 5-0 in the early minutes of the first. However, the Hawks took over and ended the half leading the blue and white, 45-18.
- Gordon outscored the Hawks in the second half, 45-39, highlighted by a 22-8 run in the final 8:38 minutes of regulation but RWU was able to stay in control to take the 84-63 league victory.
