Fresh of their trip from Virginia Beach, Gordon College Men's Lacrosse took the short trip to North Shore rival Salem State for an afternoon contest against the Vikings on Alumni Field.
For the Fighting Scots,
Jackson Wright had another dominant game with five goals and four assists,
Ryan Stephen Long netted five tallies,
Will Fleming booked three goals and one helper,
Joel Bean chipped in three assists and a goal, while
Ryan Arthur also scored twice with as many assists. Rookie
Aidan Walsh continued to take control in face-offs, going 14-16 and scooping up 10 ground balls and Will Whittlesey had five caused turnovers and four ground balls. Keepers
Colin Liscomb and
Patrick Williams made five saves each.Â
How It Happened
- With 9:58 left in the first quarter, the Fighting Scots scored five straight to take a 5-0 advantage heading into the second frame.Â
- The Vikings knocked one in early in the second, but the blue and white quickly answered back less than 60 seconds later to regain a 5-goal cushion (6-1). Gordon continued to hold the upper hand, outscoring Salem State, 5-1 to make the score 11-2 at the half.Â
- Gordon came out of halftime hot, netting 11 straight goals before the Vikings recorded one late in the fourth to earn the 22-3 win.Â
Beyond The Box Score
- Jackson Wright and Ryan Stephen Long booked career-highs with five goals.Â
- Joel Bean had a career-high three assists in the win.Â
- Aidan Walsh had double digit ground balls as well as being 85% on face-offs for the second straight game.
