Gordon College Women's Lacrosse hit the turf this afternoon as they squared up against the Fitchburg State Falcons for a non-Conference bout where the Fighting Scots dominated the turf to outscore their guests, 14-9.

The Falcons were led Eva Kozikowski net three goals for her squad while Delaney Ponder and Abaigeal Gilman contributed a pair of goals each.Â
How It Happened
- Gordon came out to a hot start as Beling got the Scots on the board in the opening minute thanks to a helper from Mini to take the early 1-0 advantage. However, at the 10:20 mark the Falcons tied it up before going ahead, 2-1 with 9:35 remaining. After Mini evened the score out at 2-2, Piorkowski regained the edge for her squad with her first goal of the game before Lapia and Mini tacked on two more to end the first quarter, 5-2.Â
- The Scots continued their momentum over into the second quarter, scoring three goals to Fitchburg's one to head into the break, 8-3.Â
- After halftime, the Falcons were able to find the back of the net three times, broken up by one Scot goal to shrink the gap (6-9) before entering the final frame.Â
- Piorkowski opened up the fourth with a goal at the 12:09 mark but the Falcons retaliated with with a goal of their own before Mini added another goal to her stat sheet to make it 11-7Â with 8:48 on the clock. Fitchburg was able to tack on two more but the Fighting Scots shut them down in the remaining minutes while netting a trio of goals to seal the 14-9Â victory.Â

- Kaitlyn Mini has scored in all five of the Scots games so far.
- The Fighting Scots are back in action on Monday, March 20 when they invite the New England College Pilgrims to the Brigham Athletic Complex for a match-up starting at 6:30 p.m.
