Hitting the diamond for their second game in as many days, Gordon College Baseball traveled down to Buzzards Bay to square off against the Buccaneers of Mass. Maritime (MMA). The Fighting Scots erupted for 19Â runs to defeat MMA, 20-9.
CJ Demers led the way with five hits and six RBI's,
Andrew Hartman registered four hits and scored four runs, while
Shane Demers and
Ryan McSally each connected for three hits. In 6.0 innings of work,Â
Brett Moore struck out seven ans scattered seven hits.Â
How It Happened
- A C. Demers sacrifice fly put the Fighting Scots up 1-0 with one down in the top of the first. The blue and white were able to plate three more runs to widen the gap to four runs.
- The Buccaneers got one run back in the home half of the inning to cut the deficit to three runs.Â
- However, the Scots' bats got hot, using seven hits to score six runs and make it an 10-1 ball game after just two innings.
- In the sixth inning, C. Demers belted a three-run homer and just three innings later, brother S. Demers matched his younger brother with a three-run jack of his own.Â
- Gordon finished with 22 hits, two homers, and seven doubles.Â
