Gordon College Men's Tennis squared off against the Wentworth Leopards this afternoon on the campus of Curry College where the Fighting Scots captured their fourth Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) sweep of the season with a 9-0 over the Leopards.Â
Kicking off the nine wins today were the No. 2-slotted
Jeffrey Bodner and
Carleton Riester who picked up an 8-2 win, which was followed by another 8-2 victory thanks to the top pairing of
Ezekiel Hall and
Joshua Noel.
Lucas Barnes and
James Wellborn defeated their counterparts, 8-4 at No. 3 doubles to give Gordon a 3-0 advantage heading into singles.
Barnes' 6-0, 6-1 win in No. 5 singles set up teammate Hall, who clinched the team victory thanks to a 6-1, 6-0 win in No. 1 action. With the match already in hand, Gordon continued to battle, coming away with wins from Bodner, Noel, Riester and Wellborn en route to the 9-0 W.
The Fighting Scots return home on Saturday, April 15 to host the Endicott College Gulls at 12 p.m. at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
